Copyright policy, RSS feed attribution standards, and instructions for submitting DMCA takedown notices to The American Ledger.

The American Ledger respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of https://www.theamericanledger.site to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

1. RSS Feed & Attribution Policy

The Site's "Auto-Posted" section displays headlines and short summaries drawn from the publicly available RSS feeds of major US news organizations (including CNN, Fox News, NPR, ABC News, CBS News and The New York Times), each clearly labeled with its source. This is done for news-reporting and reader-navigation purposes, with full attribution and links to the original reporting. All rights in the underlying articles remain with their publishers.

2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, submit a notice containing the following (per 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed;
  3. Identification of the material on the Site that you claim is infringing, with its URL;
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address;
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized;
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

3. Counter-Notification

If you believe material was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g), including your signature, identification of the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe removal resulted from mistake or misidentification, and your consent to jurisdiction of the federal district court for your district.

4. Repeat Infringers

We terminate access for users who are repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

5. Image Credits

Editorial imagery on the Site is used with attribution to its source publications or as licensed editorial stock. Uncredited or erroneous image usage may be reported to dmca@theamericanledger.site.
